At Kid Speak, we believe it is important to connect with our community to share information about communication development in children! We now provide free information services at local schools, daycare centres and libraries!

Kid Speak in Daycares and Schools:

At Kid Speak, we believe schools and daycares play a crucial role a child’s communication development. It is important early educators understand communication milestones and when to refer a child who may require additional support from a Speech Pathologist.  Our information sessions cover fundamental definitions and milestones for key areas such as expressive and receptive language, speech, social skills, and literacy. We offer practical tips for supporting children’s communication growth. Our presentations also aim to answer questions parents have about communication development, while providing guidance on available funding options and referral process for speech pathology intervention. Additionally, we offer resources for further support to ensure comprehensive assistance for children’s communication needs.

We aim to provide educators, teachers and families the information and skills to support their children’s communication development and access Speech Pathology services when required! As early intervention is best, we believe all children in our local community should benefit from strategies and understanding when Speech Pathology intervention is required.

Kid Speak in Libraries:

Kid Speak is working with a number of local libraries. This partnership is designed to enhance early literacy and communication skills by incorporating fun and educational elements to monthly Rhyme sessions and through the facilitation of specialised language activities and parent information presentations.. Having a Speech Pathologist join Rhyme Time allows for specialised, inclusive support and provides opportunities for families to engage with Speech Pathology services.

Language activities involve hands-on activities for children of all ages that encourage speaking, listening, and comprehension in a playful setting, helping to build foundational language skills while making learning enjoyable. Finally, educational presentations for parents includes strategies for families, including utilising storytelling and language-rich content to support vocabulary development.
