Kelly is a bright and bubbly neurodivergent Speech Pathologist with eight years of experience across education, private practice and community disability settings. She brights warmth, curiosity, creativity and a strong commitment to understanding each client as an individual. Kelly supports children, adolescents and adults across a range of communication needs, with particular clinical interests in neurodiversity-affirming practice, early language development, social and emotional learning and use of augmentative and alternative communication methods (AAC).
Kelly has a particular interest in supporting gestalt language processors and takes a holistic approach to communication development, recognizing the important relationship between communication, sensory regulation, movement, and emotional regulation and safety. She has worked closely with Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to incorporate strategies that support sensory and gross motor needs within communication and language therapy, while also advocating for appropriate referrals and multidisciplinary support when more complex needs arise. Kelly also has extensive experience supporting Autistic people of all ages with social and emotional learning, self-advocacy, and positive identity development including complex presentations such as PDA, situational mutism and complex trauma backgrounds. Her neurodiversity-affirming, trauma informed practice prioritizes internal safety, autonomy, connection and communication. Kelly is passionate about innovation in service delivery and has contributed to trauma aware policies, published research exploring therapy methods to support social belonging, the inclusion of lived-experience evidence alongside clinical evidence, and the development of an award-winning social inclusion group program supporting meaningful connection, participation and belonging.
At the heart of Kelly’s practice is a simple belief: approach all people with curiosity, not judgement. She is committed to creating therapy environments where people feel safe, understood, respected and empowered to communicate and connect in ways that work for them. Kelly is a certified member of Speech Pathology Australia.
Outside of her clinical work, Kelly enjoys gaming, getting creative through crafting and making clay earrings, spending time with her dog Daisy, and being a very enthusiastic Taylor Swift fan.
