We’re thrilled to announce that Kid Speak has opened the doors to our third clinic, right in the heart of Baldivis.
After many years supporting Perth families from our Shenton Park and Success locations, we’ve watched the south-eastern corridor of Perth grow into one of the most family-rich pockets of the metro area – and we wanted to be closer to the families who’ve been driving 20, 30, even 40 minutes to see us.
Our new Baldivis clinic brings the full Kid Speak experience much closer to home for families in Baldivis, Warnbro, Rockingham, Port Kennedy, Waikiki and the surrounding suburbs.
A space designed for kids
Our Baldivis space has been created with one goal in mind: creating a space where children feel safe, comfortable and genuinely happy to walk into.
We’ve kept the things our families have told us they love about our existing clinics – warm, light-filled therapy rooms, plenty of toys and engaging resources, a calm waiting area where siblings can play, and a layout that gives our therapists room to move with sensory and gross motor work. The fit-out has been done with both speech pathology and occupational therapy in mind, so families accessing both services can have everything they need in the one place.
For kids who find new environments a bit overwhelming, the space has been deliberately designed to feel familiar quickly. Our team takes the time to introduce each child to the clinic at their own pace – there’s no rush, and we know that first impressions matter for little ones who might be wary of new people or unfamiliar settings.
The full range of services, right here in Baldivis
Our Baldivis clinic offers everything Kid Speak is known for. That means families south of the river no longer need to weigh up whether the drive to Success or Shenton Park is worth it – the same experienced team, the same evidence-based approach, just much closer to home.
Speech Pathology
Our speech pathologists work with children across the full range of communication areas, including:
- Speech sound development – helping kids who mispronounce sounds or are difficult to understand
- Language development – both understanding language and expressing themselves
- Early intervention – for younger children where we can have the biggest impact early
- Stuttering – using evidence-based programs tailored to your child’s age
- Literacy – supporting reading, spelling and the speech-sound foundations underneath
- Social skills and play – including group programs as well as one-on-one work
- Mealtime management – for children with feeding difficulties or fussy eating
- Thumb sucking and oral habits – helping kids ease out of habits that affect speech and dental development
- Assistive technology – for children who use communication devices or apps
We also offer formal speech pathology assessments, school screening assessments and the whole array of therapy options out of our Baldivis clinic.
Occupational Therapy
Our OT team, led by Senior Occupational Therapist Kate, helps children build the everyday skills that make life easier – from getting dressed in the morning to making friends in the playground. At Baldivis, we offer:
- Emotional regulation therapy – helping kids recognise, name and manage big feelings
- Sensory processing therapy – for children who are over- or under-responsive to sensory input
- Fine motor skills development – pencil grip, handwriting, scissors, buttons, zips
- Gross motor skills – balance, coordination, ball skills, core strength
- Self-care and independence – dressing, toileting, eating, personal hygiene
- Play and social skills – turn-taking, imaginative play, navigating friendships
- Attention and executive function – planning, organising, following instructions, finishing tasks
Sessions are one-to-one in our clinic, with a detailed assessment up front and a personalised plan we’ll talk through with you in plain English.
Who we work with
We work with children from toddlers through to teens. Some come to us with a specific diagnosis – Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Down Syndrome, developmental delay – and others come because something just doesn’t feel quite right, and parents want a professional opinion. Both are valid reasons to walk through the door.
A lot of the children we see are funded through the NDIS. We accept self-managed, plan-managed and agency-managed NDIS funding, and our admin team is across the process if you’re not sure how to use your child’s plan. We also support families using private health insurance rebates and Medicare’s M10 and Chronic Disease Management plans (with a GP referral).
Why Baldivis?
The south-east of Perth is one of the fastest-growing parts of the metro area, and the City of Rockingham is consistently among the youngest local government areas in WA. There are a lot of young families down here, and not enough paediatric therapy services to go around. The waitlists at many local providers stretch out for months, and the alternative for many families has been a long drive north.
Opening a clinic in Baldivis was the obvious next step for us. The suburb sits at a natural crossroads, with easy access off the Kwinana Freeway and well-connected via Safety Bay Road and Mandurah Road, and the Baldivis town centre and Stockland Baldivis Shopping Centre nearby for families combining a therapy session with the weekly shop.
Suburbs we’re convenient to
Our Baldivis clinic is well placed for families across the south-eastern and southern coastal stretch of Perth. If you live in any of the following suburbs, the drive to us is short:
Within the City of Rockingham: Baldivis, Rockingham, Warnbro, Waikiki, Safety Bay, Shoalwater, Port Kennedy, Secret Harbour, Singleton, Golden Bay, Cooloongup, Hillman, East Rockingham, Peron, Garden Island.
A short drive north: Wellard, Bertram, Kwinana, Leda, Parmelia, Orelia, Calista, Medina.
Further afield in the Peel region: Karnup, Lakelands, Madora Bay, San Remo, Meadow Springs and northern Mandurah suburbs.
For families who are still finding Shenton Park or Success more convenient, those clinics aren’t going anywhere.
Booking a session at Baldivis
If you’ve been waiting for a closer option, we’d love to hear from you. There’s no GP referral needed for a self-funded or NDIS-funded initial assessment – you can call us directly, and our admin team will walk you through the next steps. Please note Kid Speak is a registered NDIS provider.
