What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy (OT) supports children and young people to participate in the activities that matter most in daily life. These might include playing, learning, moving their bodies, managing emotions, making friends, or developing independence at home and school.
“Occupation” refers to the everyday things children need and want to do, like dressing, eating, playing, and learning.
“Therapy” means we help them strengthen the skills and strategies to do these activities successfully, with more confidence and less stress.
OT can also support families with understanding their child’s unique strengths and challenges, and how to best support them across different settings.
